Should your kids know you smoke Marijuana

I have smoked marijuana since I was 14 that was also when I started smoking cigarettes. I grew up with D.A.R.E and JUST SAY NO and THE WAR ON DRUGS. And let's face it I was

a teenager so it was totally recreational weekend parties. (I'm not saying you should smoke marijuana when your a teen this is just my story)

When I was 16 I became a mom to my son At 20 to my first daughter second daughter at 22 and at 24 to my baby girl. I stopped smoking both marijuana and cigarettes with all of my pregnancies until I stopped breastfeeding But as soon as they were no longer reliant on me for food I picked both of them back up marijuana and cigarettes. I grew up and raised my kids in Idaho (which is still a non friendly state) in the 90's we did not know we should not smoke in the house around our children so I would smoke cigarettes in the house and my marijuana outside (because I was taught that marijuana was a drug and cigarettes and alcohol well they were ok fully accepted in society)

I would hide in the barn or in a shed or behind the car wherever I had to hide just to smoke my marijuana there was such a stigmatism that it was so bad that I was a bad person for smoking marijuana I did not talk to my children and let them know that I smoked marijuana I tried to hide it from them my son he's pretty smart guy and caught me when he was 16 (by smelling my hands lol that totally backfired on him cuz as a mom I started doing the same thing to him) My girls we're all in there early twenties (my youngest is now 22) before they caught me smoking marijuana and I say caught me because I was still sneaking to smoke marijuana. All four of my children had to catch their mother smoking marijuana before I would even acknowledge to them that I did smoke marijuana. You see to me it was still a stigmatism a drug I didn't want my kids ( the humans I am trying to raise to be productive adults) to think that their mom was on drugs. And you know what! they thought no different of there mother still love me the same. ( just pointing out two of my (adult)children smoke marijuana and two of my (adult)children do not it is their choice)

So now I have grandchildren (yay me) My son has never tried to hide marijuana from his boys he is a single dad that has full custody of the boys he smokes marijuana out side away from the boys and is an amazing dad and adult. That being said I was so against him not hiding to smoke marijuana and letting his boys know that he was smoking marijuana keep in mind I grew up thinking it was a bad drug and we should not show our children that even though we can smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol in public and in our backyard and in family gathering and smoke cigarettes wherever we want to and that is perfectly acceptable to society and to our children. It's the stigmatism that we need to take out of the equation

So fast forward to today of 2019, I live in Oregon which is a marijuana friendly state I no longer smoke cigarettes but I do smoke marijuana cigarettes aka joints. And I smoke joints freely around my grandchildren around my friends my family even my father-in-law (that was fun) I grow my marijuana plants in the same Garden that my grandchildren help me to grow their vegetables it is a normal plant to them.

To me Joints are just the cigarettes I choose to smoke. I am no longer weighed down by the stigmatism I am free to be me.

So no more hiding let's break the stigmatism light a joint and don't hide educate your kids instead of one day making them think they're doing something wrong. It's a plant

So to answer the question I have found if you smoke marijuana stop hiding help break the stigmatism Be respectful But Just don't hide it
