Used for centuries in Eastern Europe and Germany, hugelkultur (“mound culture”) is a gardening and farming technique whereby woody debris (fallen branches and/or logs) are used as a resource. Hugelkultur allows growers to mimic the nutrient cycling found in a natural woodland to realize several benefits. Woody debris that falls to the forest floor can readily become sponge like, soaking up rainfall and releasing it slowly into the surrounding soil, thus making this moisture available to nearby plants.Hugelkultur Holes and beds use the same principle:Help retain moisture, Build soil fertility, Improve drainage Naturally Feeds your Cannabis season after season Hugelkultur is particularly well suited for areas that present a challenge to growers. Urban lots with compacted soils, areas with poor drainage, limited moisture, etc., can be significantly improved using a hugelkultur, as hugelkultur beds are, essentially, large compost piles covered with a growing medium into which Your Cannabis is planted. Cannabis is especially good to use for this because it already has all of the minerals and nutrients Trapped in the Leafs and stems everything that your cannabis will need to grow happy and healthy with very little effortOnce you build your holes they will last for years the longer they're in the less you have to water by year three almost no watering at all

1. Select an area with approximately these dimensions: 3 feet circumference by 2 feet depth (or deeper ) I usually try for 3 feet deep But This method is forgiving, and there is no fixed rule as to the size of the bed. 2. Gather materials for the project:Fallen logs, branches, twigs, fallen leaves (As in your Cannabis Leafs stocks and stems whatever you are going to throw away). Avoid using cedar, walnut or other tree species deemed allelopathic. Nitrogen rich material (manure or kitchen waste work well and will help to maintain a proper carbon to nitrogen ratio in the decomposing mass within the Hugelkultur hole. Top soil (enough to cover the other layers of the bed Mulching material ( Dried Cannabis Leafs straw or shredded paper works well )

3. Dig your Hole

4. Lay the logs (the largest of the biomass debris) down as the first layer of the Hugelkultur Hole. Next, add a layer of branches, then a layer of small sticks and twigs. I use my Cannabis stocks stems you can also use weeds ( it is fall after all)

5. Begin filling in spaces between the logs, twigs and branches with Cannabis leafs tree leafs and straw or shredded paper

6. Add about ½ foot layer of Manure and/or kitchen scraps coffee grounds are great6. Water these layers well . 7. Repeat steps 4&5 (like your making lasagna) until your Hugelkultur hole is about ¾ full

8. Finally, top off the bed with top soil and a layer of mulch. The Hugelkultur bed will benefit from “Curing” a bit, so it is best to prepare the holes in the fall So they are ready to plant in the spring So prepare your beds Now for your spring planting. Side Note: Hugelkultur beds can be planted immediately. But do there best after a winter's nap. Plant seeds or transplants into the Hugelkultur hole as you would any other garden bed. Happy Cannabis Hugelkulturing! This year I did a experiment I have a 2 year old hole. My friend gave me two clones of his Mother Teresa. I planted one in the Hugelkultur Hole and I planted the other one in just my garden soil which by the way is black and beautiful but as you can see below the Hugelkultur Mother Teresa is amazing as of today she is still green and beautiful her sister is turning colors bringing on her fall colors I will be harvesting her today They are so different they do not even look like the same plant even though they were cloned off the same Mother Plant

pictures I took 10/17/18

Mother Teresa in my garden soil topped out at 5 ft tall 4 ft circumference

she is beautiful and smells delicious

The Hugelkultur Mother Teresa I stopped watering July 30th I think I am going to give her a little bit longer Mother Teresa in the Hugelkultur Hole as of right now she is 14 ft tall 13 ft circumference (I even had to cage her twice)I hope you found this article helpful I know I did I will plant all of my girls in Hugelkultur Holes next year I am so amazed at this technique it's a little work to get them in but I think it is totally worth it

Stems themselves don't produce resins, but they do collect residues from the flowers they carried and nurtured. Being cannabis, it makes...
